New festival dedicated to local coffee and craft beer coming to Vancouver

If there's anything that's certain in the foodie world, it's that Vancouver loves its locally-roasted coffee and it loves its craft beer too. So it only makes sense that someone would come up with a hybrid festival that celebrates both of these highly-consumed and beloved local beverages at the same time - enter Hopwired Festival.

ATTENDING brewers & roasters

With due care for the serving environment we selected one of our favourite, enclosed open space venues in Vancouver, the Croatian Cultural Center. The venue is modern, bright, refurbished, and only a ten-minute walk from the Commercial-Broadway skytrain.

Designated Driver tickets are available as coffee-only wristbands at the price of $22.00 plus taxes. Coffee-only tickets will not be allowed to consume alcohol, and will be removed by security if they do.

The event is a short walk from the Commercial-Broadway station, and it's surrounding bus stops. The station is the busiest station in Metro-Vancouver and easily accessible for all people.

We're also not a far stretch from some of the best cycling routes in the city. We encourage you to get out on your bike, enjoy the city, and find a route that you enjoy.

There are a number of parking spots available at the Croatian Cultural Center, although not designated for car sharing vehicles. We discourage you from drinking and driving.

* The festival makes no guarantee that any particular beer or brewery or coffee or coffee roaster will be pouring or available the entire festival. Some beers and coffees will sell out faster than others. Your ticket does not guarantee any specific beer nor does it guarantee any specific coffee.

Tickets and tokens will not be refunded. All beers and coffees pouring will be available to General admission ticket holders starting at 1:00pm until they sell out and/or by event day's end. Each beer vendor booth and each coffee vendor booth reserve the right to hold back beers and coffee.

When is Hopwired?

Saturday, February 24 2018. 1pm - 5pm. Gates close at 4:30pm, last call is 5:00pm.
All patrons must vacate the property by 5:15pm.

Where is Hopwired being held?

At the Croatian Cultural Center.
The address is 3250 Commercial Dr, Vancouver BC, Canada.

Which bus do I take to get there?

We suggest for the most efficient route planner to use Translink's Trip Planner or take a nice ten minute walk, south of the Commercial-Broadway skytrain, on Commercial Drive.

Is there parking?

There's parking available but we prefer it be used by our brewer and roasters vendors for unloading and loading their vehicles. Transit isn't far and we really prefer that you take it.

Who's running this thing?

West Craft, an independent craft beverage brand promotion consultation business. We're a husband & wife duo that love craft beer and third wave coffee.

Will there be ATMs?

There is one ATMs on-site. Tokens will be available for purchase by credit card, and most of the food trucks will be able to accept credit cards or cash. Bring cash.

Will there be first aid available?

Your health and safety is our priority!
St John Ambulance will be on-site near the entrance to the festival.

Are there bathrooms?

How much are tickets?

Tickets are $52 plus taxes. You can buy them here.
Ticket sales begin Saturday, December 16 2017. All ticket sales are final.

What do I get with my ticket? *

Entry into this coffee tasting and craft beer tasting event.
A stylish, souvenir tasting glass.
4 beer tokens tokens (4oz pour per token)
Unlimited coffee pours at 3oz per pour.

Do I need to bring my ticket?

Yes, please bring your ticket as a printout, or a PDF.
We will be scanning your ticket for entry, you will not be granted entry without your ticket.

How much are additional tokens?

Beer: $10 will get you 6 tokens, good for a 4oz pour each. Every beer we pour will cost a single token. We accept Visa, Mastercard and cash for token sales.

Coffee: Free, unlimited 3oz coffee pours. We will have coffee tickets available at the beer token bar as well as at our sponsors' booths. *

Will there be tickets available at the door?

We don't expect there to be any tickets available at the door, and we encourage you to buy tickets as soon as possible to avoid missing out on our event.

What am I buying tickets for again?

The inaugural coffee and coffee craft beer event. We've called it Hopwired. We invited some of our favourite beverage businesses to take part in this event and serve you some of the best coffee products on the market. Expect blondes, lagers, stouts, sours, single-origin coffees, blended coffees, and decaffeinated coffees - as well as a rotating espresso bar from Vancouver Icon espresso machine distributor Espresso Coffee Machines Co (ECM).

How does your refund policy work?

We're sorry but all ticket sales are final. If you're unable to attend, we will accept tickets that have been transferred.

Can I bring my kids? My cat? My parakeet?

This is a licensed 19+ event, and we do not allow any kids or pets.

Are there in & out privileges?

Yes. Your wristband allows you to come and go as you please. Your wristband must be on you at all times and must be on your wrist to get back in.

What do I do if I lose or break my glass?

There will be a limited amount of glasses available for purchase at the Hopwired token/donut/merchandise booth.

What if I get hurt from a hot beverage?

Hopwired, Hopwired's Vendors and Sponsors, West Craft and the Croatian Cultural Center hold no responsibility if any patron gets burned from heated liquid or steam. Please use discretion when around, handling, and consuming anything heated.

Can we be in your promo photos? Can we not?

By entering the venue, you consent to your voice, name, and/or likeness being used, without compensation, in photos and videos for use in any and all media, whether now known or hereafter devised, for eternity, and you release Hopwired and its directors, successors, assigns and licensees from any liability whatsoever of any nature. Don't forget to smile. :)

Will there be food?

What's a good couple of coffees and beers without food? We will have an assortment of food trucks so you don't go hungry. No outside food or beverages will be permitted on site. We do allow sealed and empty water bottles, however we will have water on site from a local water company. We’ll have food trucks posted here once we’ve locked them in with a commitment.

Will you feed me?

We want the same thing for ourselves but we can't afford that generosity.
Please remember to bring cash and credit.

Will there be donuts?

You bet there will be! Donuts will start at $4.00 each and will be located at our ticket booth.
We will have a coffee donut, an earl grey donut, and a gluten-free donut. They're worth every penny.

Will there be other non-coffee options?

We're trying our best to lock in a single tea vendor - although with the spirit of the event we will likely not have any other options other than premium- thirst-quenching water from Element H20.

Will there be gluten-free options?

There's plenty of coffee - otherwise no gluten-free beer. The gluten-free beer market is so small and expensive for how small of an audience that we have that we cannot accommodate those things.
Food-wise, as we announce our food truck lineup, please consult their menus.
